Innokin iTaste MVP 3 Pro review

The iTaste MVP 3 Pro is an upgraded version of the original iTaste MVP 3 by Innokin. It has received some significant and much needed changes to allow better compatibility with today’s sub-ohm tanks by lowering the minimum resistance to 0.2 Ohm and doubling the wattage output to 60W. To accompany the increased performance Innokin has integrated a powerful new lipo battery and to make this deal even better the Pro version retails at a lower price than the original at $54.99. We always liked the iTaste MVP series and were excited to see whether those changes were enough to make this box mod relevant in the sub-ohm market again, so we tested it for you.

Innokin iTaste MVP 3 Pro specs and build quality

This box mod with its bulky, rectangular shaped chassis has really got a fair bit of weight to it and overall makes a very robust impression. The iTaste MVP 3 Pro offers aInnokin iTaste MVP 3 Pro in black variable voltage mode at a range of 3V to 9V and a variable wattage mode with a range of 6W to 60W. Unfortunately, fans of temperature control modes will have to look elsewhere because the iTaste MVP 3 Pro does not support TC. The integrated lipo battery is a real powerhouse with 4400 mAh that is guaranteed to last you for as much as you could possibly vape in a day and then some! Innokin have also implemented a handy little mini-USB cable tucked away on the bottom of the device which you can use to charge your smartphone, other box mods or any electronic device with a mini-USB port. Those perks come at a minor downside, though, as it does take a solid 5 hours to recharge the battery from zero to full.

Innokin iTaste MVP 3 Pro vapor production and flavour

Since the iTaste MVP 3 Pro is also available as a full kit together with the iSub G sub-ohm tank we decided to use that tank for our testing purposes. Firing it up we were impressed with how accurately and stable both voltage output and wattage output modes were sitting exactly at the desired output level. We actually quite enjoyed vaping in variable voltage mode on this box mod and drew some tasty vapor on higher voltage settings. Variable wattage mode worked just as well and overall we certainly had a pleasant vape on the iTaste MVP 3 Pro but also have to admit it didn’t exactly rock our world either.

  • Very sturdy chassis
  • Huge battery lifetime
  • Integrated charging cable to charge other electronic devices

  • Heavier than your average box mod
  • Battery takes about 5 hours to recharge
  • No temperature control mode

You could notice that Innokin listened to their customer’s feedback on the original MVP 3 and put in a lot of effort to improve themselves with the new Pro model. In many regards this has worked very well, especially the changes to minimum resistance and higher wattage output finally made the iTaste MVP 3 Pro a relevant option to consider for sub-ohm vaping. The huge battery and incredible lifetime is certainly an eye catcher and we appreciated the idea of integrating a charging cable so you can charge other devices from that powerhouse of a battery. In our opinion, the recharging time of 5 hours is not really worth complaining about since you would probably just put it on charge over night anyway. While the original iTaste MVP 3’s price tag was rather ambitious, to put it nicely, we are happy to see Innokin have come to senses here as well and slap a more realistic price of $54.99 onto the MVP 3 Pro. Now this box mod is absolutely worth considering if you are looking for a well built and robust mid-range sub-ohm device.
